Default 'Push & Turn' saddlebag locking pins

I hate having to remove my bags because of the STCHUPID locking pins that never seem to engage properly without having to bend the wire. I've removed 3 of them several times and hammered & whacked at em until the pin would connect only to have them "f up" again after a few uses. Does anybody have a 'permanent' fix?

Wow. I am on my third bike with hard saddlebags and I have never had a problem with them at all. Line the saddlebag up properly and they go right in.

Line them up properly and they will latch right in. Do not force them as you will damage them as you already have.

The stock set up sux and I have broken them before. This is what I use now and it cost me less than $10.00 I took off the stock set up and then put these items in from the back of the bag as follows: (2) washers, (1) clevis pin and secure it inside the bag with (1) hitch pin. It is tight and does not move at all. I also grinded off the extra bit of clevis for a cleaner look. This set up is quick detach and can not be removed when the lid is secure...unlike the stock set up.

The bailhead studs fit into the receptacle when properly lined up. Several do away with the studs and receptacle and put in bolts or something for security purposes.

robvg, loosen the mounts that the pins go in. but not so loose that there isn't still friction holding them in place. Install the bags and pins. Gently rock the bags back and forth to get everything lined up and settled in. Carefully remove the pins and bags, and tighten down the mounts. They are now lined up and you should have no more trouble.

Check out Brukus.com He has a saddlebagsecure system that works. People on this forum say you can buy the individual parts cheaper, but he has them in a kit and as I said it works.

every now and then, i loosen up the 1/4 bolts on the upper bag supports. make sure the bag is situated and down in the lower support bar real good. then, tighten them back up. also, when you take the bags off and put them back on,make sure sure both holes are lined up horizontally. t does make a difference. a little grease on the pin or pin brackets helps as well.
