I had a bike stolen in June, the ignition was locked, and I had a disk lock on the front, I now have a disk lock with an alarm on it, and the factory alarm with siren, I put the disk lock on the rear hidden by the bags.
A pair of channel locks can turn the ignition in less than 3 seconds, but with the alarm it won't start.
I was no more than 60 feet from the bike when it was stolen from the parking lot at work, still can't figure out how it was stolen.
Pay your insurance...

>>I use all that I have. Lock the ignition swith, the fork lock, I use a disk lock and I have the security system. Not much else I can do.<<

I agree, that's my setup too. As someone else said, do not use a HD cover. I have a black breath-able plain-jane cover. Some like the paging system, I haven't gone that far. Only other thing I try to remember is be a little choosy where I stop.

I bought a half cover, decided against using it because I didn't want it screwing up the paint. I bought a disc lock, then decided against using it knowing that I'd leave it on and dump the bike.

I carry a decent amount of insurance on it. I try to park in well-lit areas. If hotel management is agreeable, I park it up front (though that's got its own set of problems too if people come in after you and want to pose for pictures on the cool Harley). Bottom line is that as much as I like both of my bikes, they're just things, and things are replaceable.

I have the LoJack Early Warning Recovery System. I also like to travel with friends, that way we can lock our bikes together with a 6ft cable. Being able to see your bike from your window is also good.

I also lock my steering and empty out my bags. I leave the bags unlocked, so someone doesn't break into them.

If the savages have a hard on for your bike they will get it. A couple years ago they broke into my garage and took my bike. Now i have an alarm and chain it to a support post inside and keep my insurance up to date.

I removed the stock junk and secure my bags for under $10.00 with the following setup:

(2) washers, (1) clevis pin (1) hitch pin

You can't get them off from the outside like the stock ones and they are quick release too. If I'm in a really bad area, I can just take the bags in the room.

When riding with a buddy I put a cable lock around both frames, hurts the roll away and pick up thieves. Alone try to park close to the door and under a light.
