Default U1040 code answer?

I was searching and found that Caddy says "loss of communiction with ABS". So I plugged in my fuse for the ABS and the code cleared.

I don't wanna take away by talking about ABS. Enough debate on other threads.

Got the same here on a 2011. Due to noone posting back that the fuse fixes this I normaly find this is the case that does fix it.

Steps to get it to test the older models but it will get you into testing by the first two lines:

With IGN OFF you turn the RUN/STOP to RUN.
Then hold in the Trip Switch, and turn IGN ON.
The ODO will display “DIAG”.
Release the Trip switch, then press and release the trip switch until the ?E? displays “ABS”. When “ABS” is displayed, hold in the trip button and the first code will be displayed.
Then release the trip switch and press it again – the second code will be displayed.

C1032 - Front wheel speed sensor circuit open or shorted
C1216 - Rear brake switch open

Hey outlawspeeder

I have this issue on my 11 Streetglide and tried the steps you listed above and got half way through but could not get the " ABS" to display.

Any chance you could help me with this as to what i might be doing wrong ...

Thanks
