Does the clutch require more effort than it should, or is it just your wife?
With a bike that age, have you tried lubing or replacing the cable?
Have here exercise her hand by squeezing a tennis ball. Won't take long to get some strength in her hand.
I'm sure there are other more expensive options, these are what I'd try first.
I squeeze the clutch and put a little lube on the cable regularly, as general maintenance, so fresh lube is getting worked in.
If I want to lube the entire cable, I remove the upper end and tie it with string so it is pointing straight up. Drip lube on the cable and let it run down this takes quite a bit of time. You can also make a funnel type reservoir at the end so the lube keeps seeping into the cable and reduces the time it takes.
There are tools you can buy to do the job, they aren't expensive or complicated. The job will only take a few minutes. I think some guys have better luck than others when using the tools.
just get the EZ pull ramps and be done with it..Put one made by MRC clutch (PN HD-0002 for 94up) on the wifes 99 Sporty a few years back, worked great.
