Agree with above - fuel stabilizer and use a battery tender.

Battery tender and fuel stabilizer and you will be good for extended storage. May want to consider changing oil to remove contaminates.

Depending on what you are doing to it during the time yer not riding, many of the repairs require disconnecting the battery 'for safety' as has been said. Set the battery over in a corner with the tender on it. The old porous hard rubber battery cases from 40-50 years ago were susceptable to draining when placed on concrete, but not the new plastic cases we use today...

(Yeh, I just needed another post for my count!)

I do know that on some autos, removing the battery does reset some computer functions. However, it only takes a few minutes of driving after re-installing a battery to have the computer back to norm. I would think the Harley would be no different. Whaterver computer functions have to shut down when the battery is removed should work fine shortly after startup. You should be good to go.

Actually, unhooking the battery will delete your radio presets.

I usually fill the tank up so there isn't any room for moisture and add stabilizer, remove the battery and put it on a tender.

I have a collection of bikes and some have set as long as 9 months. I put StaBil in the tank at the amount stated on the bottle for two years protection and run the bike until it is through the injectors. Then they are attached to tenders. I use the $20 Schumacker 1.5 amp model. Walmart has went to over $22 on those but I found that Farm and Fleet still has them For $18 and some change. I used to cover them but I found that I like to look at them in the winter. The garage is climate controlled. I put the tires at the spec psi and have never had a flat spot. I don't put anything under the tire either.

They all start immediately when I take them out of storage.
