unhooked battery
i have just had back surgery and will not be able to ride for several months according to doc. so i was wondering if i take battery loose and leave it loose while i do some things to my 07 ultra will it hurt any thing ,{computer} or will it looseany information.
I would get one of those 'Battery Minders' and leave the battery connected.
They only put out about .5 A...when needed, to keep the battery topped off.
I hook mine up when the temps get down to the 30's. Around the middle of November and leave it until the weather warms up in the Spring. Usually around late March.
My battery is the original '05 and still does it's job.

Get a quailty battery tender & leave it connected while you recover. It also wouldn't hurt to start up the bike & let it run for a couple of minutes once every week or two so your fuel doesn't sit there & go bad. If you get low on fuel put in a little more but don't fill it up all the way so you don't waste it.

Running the engine for a few minutes every week or two won't use much gas.

Unless you are going for a ride long enough to burn off the condensation, leave it alone. Plug in the battery tender and forget about the bike for a while!
