Default car audio componets on your ride?

How easy is it to install car amps and speakers on your ride? How reliable has it been? I cant see paying HUGE prices for bike audio upgrades when there is possible CHEAPER solutions out there. Input and pics would help greatly. Thanks everyone. You may now continue what you were doing, lmao

Biggest hurdle with a car amp if finding somewhere it'll fit. Not much room inside the fairing so you might be looking at a tourpac install.

Speakers have to be motorcycle or Marine grade as they have to be weather proof...also make sure the impedance of the speakers you select match the output impedance and wattage of the amp.

I have 6.5in Polk speakers work great. I could not find a car amp that would fit in the fairing so i went with wet sounds amp.

I would say that GlacierPearl is the resident expert on car audio on a motorcycle. There is no need to have marine grade components, although then you do have to worry about moisture, but they will work, and I know a lot of people that have done with with no problem... also there are speakers called "Shockwaves" they are top shelve, although you will pay for them and they are completely waterproof! Good luck! And as GlacierPearl has said check out his system link! It is impressive!

I would recommend giving Firecap a call or sending him a PM. He was very patient in the search for a headunit on my Road King. After a few recommendations, I ended up with an Alpine digital media receiver (no CD) which has been great. It resides behind a weather cover in the fairing, 4- 5.25" Arc Audio speakers, quite a nice sound system. The only thing I need to round things out is the 45 watt per channel plug and play Alipne amp and I'll be all set.

Ridden through rain, downpours and washed the bike a few times, no problems at all. Just be careful. The first radio I had in the fairing was a $70.00 Pyle unit from Overstock.com, marine grade supposedly and for a cheap radio, that wasn't so bad, just now what I wanted.

The Alpine works great with the handlebar controls I installed, the Pyle was all manual tuning, kind of hard when you're doing highway speeds.
