I want to add true duals to my RK - a guy at HD says they need to know if a computer download is on the bike - I said I didn't know because I bought the bike used last winter - he said I need to find out - so, I called the HD that is local in the town that I bought it to see if they could get me the information about this bike and they said they can't release that information.
My question is this - can't my local HD look to see if a computer download has been installed and read what code? Maybe the guy was trying to save me money if I could find out on my own so they don't have to hook it up?
Also, the previous owner added V&H Basic slip-ons and and upgraded the air kit - isn't it likely that a computer donload was added?
It could be one of several things. With the vin # a dealer should be able to tell you. They can also plug into your ecm and see if there was a download. You could also look behind the right side cover and see if a Power Commander or other device is there.

Hey thanks - I will take a look behind the cover - otherwise it is good to know that they can find it.
