Default V & H dressor duals / ovals

I own a 2010 FLHR and when I bought it I changed out the stock mufflers to V&H ovals. The sound was a lot better and it did not seem to run any hotter. Today I am taking out the stock header and replacing it with the V&H dressor duals. The consenos of opinion from most people is that you can change mufflers or A/C without a tuner but not both. It got me thinking if changing out the head pipe with my ovals will still allow me to run without a tuner. All opinions would be greatly appreciated.

So ... you're taking out the stock header with the cat, and changing to true duels?

If so, you'll need a tuner.

No problem.

What you're wanting to do is a good thing IMO. You will open up the air flow tremendously just by removing the cat. See the pic below of the converter cut in half and judge for yourself.

Yes, you will want a tune with that change.

I am running V&H True Duals/Monster Ovals on a 2010 RK with 103 kit and 255 cams. IT ROCKS! The sound is AWESOME! You will love it. I have right around 8k miles on it.

I changed from stock headers and Bub 7 Stealths to Dresser Duals and Monster Rounds.

The Monster Rounds have the same internals as the Monster Ovals.

I was waiting for the PCV to arrive and thought I could run it for a day or two without it, wrong. The bike ran extremely lean and had a skip in it. I am assuming the O2 sensors didn't like what they were reading in the exhaust.

Put the PCV on, loaded the map, made a couple of adjustments and off I went. The PCV is very close to perfect, but I opted to go with an Autotune module to get it exact. The bike is in the shop for a compensator, so I haven't had a chance to get it out. I'll post hopefully tomorrow about the Autotune.

Wow.....since we run 07 & 08's I read about the cat's you guys are dealing with but seeing it exposed is a whole different can-o-worms. When/if I ever move up a few years THAT will be the 1st thing out.
