Bogging noise and sensation in every gear....Compensator
I searched high and low through out the forums and tried to find a thread on noise that matched. There were talks about cams, low octane pings, need for tuners and other things. I finally took it in for service 15K and asked the technician about the noise. I said I would go outside and listen as he drove it about the parking lot. The noise would appear first starting out and at the bottom of each gear or if I gave it a little twist and there was a noticeable feel of loss in power. I could hear it as he drove away and he looked towards me when we heard it. We both heard the same thing He thought it was the "compensator" and removed the side case and put a torque wrench on the nut at the end of the crankshaft and it moved. He said that should do it and finished the service adding new fluids. He took it out again for a test ride and thought it was "worse" so he had another "master tech" from the shop and he test drove it to see what he thought. He said it may be compensator or something else. Well they brought it in and opened it up again. Took the assembly that had the compensator in it and found that the large grooves( wide splines) in the middle of the compensator slider were badly deformed which caused it to have difficulty sliding on the shaft as the end part of the compensator moves in and out of the dimples. Replaced with another part and problem fixed. I don't know what caused it because I am a conservative driver-don't think I ever have tached the engine to 5000 and I don't lug the engine either usually shifting 2000-3000 rpm and am still on my first rear tire with over 16000 miles. Long winded sorry
Love my service department.
