Default Purplexing dyno results

The PO of my 09 ultra had a stage one put in from the dealer when he bought it new. The dealer installed a SERT, SE air intake, Rinehart slip ons. I'm about to have a 106 big bore kit and 551 cams installed so I had a "before" dyno run. I've looked at dyno results from stock 96" Ultras and they seem to run in the mid 70's max torque and mid 60's max hp. (the one's I've found online anyway). So mine with a stage one read exactly that. Stock. It doesn't seem like the stage one did squat for torque or hp. Now if I had been the one spending the money on that I would have been a bit unhappy. I wonder why there was no gain in power? Maybe the slip-ons are the culprit? I expected a bit more.

In order to make a true dyno comparison it has to be same bike, same day, same dyno etc. I believe elevation also has an effect. You are comparing apples to oranges here. It would be nice if you knew your bike's stock numbers but I'll bet it got a 10-15% increase in hp and tq with the stage 1.

I would think you would be getting a little better numbers? Do you plan on using a better flowing headpipe with your 106 build? Like a fuel moto type or a 2-1 headpipe?

Fuel Moto headers are very similar to stock 09 headers, you wouldn't be gaining much by going that route.

Well I'm not 100% sure what I'm going to do with the pipes if anything. I'm first going to find out how the bike feels with the 106 and 551's. I'm going to have a dyno as well to see what that looks like and mostly to check the fuel settings. I'm taking off the SERT and putting on a power commander v with autotune. If the results are weak I'll have to consider a 2-1 or do the heads. I don't know. All I really want is more torque in the cruising ranges so anything up to 4000 rpms. Hopefully the S&S stuff will be enough.

Yea having the bike's stock numbers would be nice. The old guy that I bought the bike from (bout the same age as me so I can call him old and get away with it) just ordered it in and had the work done before he even saw it. That makes me wonder if the original dealer ran a dyno prior to doing the work. I'll call them. Thanks for mentioning that.

Stage 1 and a SERT are not the same thing.

I would say those numbers are about right with a download, there is room for improvement with a good tune.

I think Jamies x pipe is quite a bit better. The only thing changed on this sheet was the head pipe and retuned. The dip is due to Thunderheader slip ons.
