I had the same problem with the Vance & Hines Oval Slip-ons using the V&H supplied clamps (05 Road King, FLHRI). They leaked exhaust gas at both pipes. After installing the stock HD torca clamps, no problems. By the way, I reused the original torca clamps.

I installed the Vance & Hines Ovals on my 05 EGlide and I'm having a problem with exhaust leaks on both pipes. When the motor is running I can feel air coming from where the muffler joins the header pipe. Has anyone had this problem with V & H. I used the clamps supplied and I'm afraid to clamp down too tight because the clamps are starting bend. Actually the HD clamps look like they might work better. Any tips on how the clamps should be positioned. Any suggestions would be helpful.
I just had the same problem on my RK with V&H true duals, and slash mufflers. I bought new clamps, because I was told the Original HD / Torca clamps should not be reused. For good measure I put a liberal amount of hi temp copper silicon gasket maker in the slotted portion of each pipe.
I just ditched the V&H clamps, and went and bought the HD ones, $8.59 a piece I think, Its the only way to go, plus that long a@# bolt doesnt show anymore. I saw some guy on Ebay selling 2 HD clamps for $40, said they listed at $29 a piece at the Stealer! Either they ripped him off, or he's trying to get into someones' pants!
