w-what?

Can anyone else hear your buddy transmit? Sounds like maybe he has a microphone issue rather than you having a receiving issue. This is the kind of stuff that can drive you nutz, especially right before a long ride!

Default Transmitting problem

I have a handheld mic & will try that from my friend's bike - also check mic via intercom with both headsets on 1 bike? Going to check my sets of cables pins. Thx to those trying to help.

Took the bike in for a warranty service check on the CB. Tried every idea & still not receiving CB signals beyond a "click." Since we have alot of cold & rain in the Milwaukee forcast it seemed like a good time to be without the bike.

Default CB Receiving Issue - Problem Solved

After troubleshooting the bike CB for days to the point of pulling my hair out it was actually good to find that my conclusion was confirmed by the H-D dealer. Defective CB Module & a warranty replacement ordered. They swapped another CB module from another new bike & then heard CB transmissions, but the dealer was not willing to leave that working CB test unit on my bike. Part on order for a couple weeks. That's fine. In the end it looks like the CB receiving problem has been solved. BTW: they said the antenna tested fine - even with my lost rubber tip replaced with an auto parts store vacuum cap.
