\'ve had Samons on my RKC for over 10 years. They haven't fell apart, yet. Their fishtail mufflers are the same body and baffles as the Rolled Thunders. The ends are just different.
From: In the Pacific Northwest, a few hours east of Seattle.
I'm running Samson True Duals.
I'm happy with them, although we initially had problems about a year into our relationship when suddenly the chrome peeled off my endcaps. ONLY the endcaps.
It was just after a really long trip. The company had had issues with one of their suppliers. They replaced the endcaps. No more issues.
I like the way they sound - not too loud, but pretty deep and growly.
No, but I do like my ovals!
Not way to loud unless you get hard into it above three grand. Everybody tell me they aren't as loud as I think they are, and I like that.
I bought my scoot with Samsons, untuned. it sounded ok.
I have a set of rolled thunder in the shed that I replaced with my Rineharts, good condition I believe. 50$ plus shipping if you're interested. Let me know, if so I can get pictures. Lately I've been selling the parts that have been replaced, no sense keeping stuff. I even have 2 sets of stockers, one unbaffled. Sold the Corbin seat on here a while back.
I have the oval slip ons. I like the sound ok. The right one did start turning to a gold tint after about 10,000 miles. Dealer did help me replace them though Samson fought it at first. Have about 20,000 on the current ones and the right one is starting to turn again. I don't think my next bike is going to have Samsons. Just my experience though.
