Exclamation Detachable tourpack question !

Ok,

So I have got all the electrical connectors done thanks to this thread and 4 hours so far: (Thanks Ultraklassic for posting those, this was great)
https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...etachable.html

A couple of hints to add..if you have never installed a Deutsch connector as I did not, and don't understand how to assemble the connectors, you may want to watch this video on the left:
http://www.laddinc.com/customer-reso...dt-series.html

Also, I bought extra plug connectors to plug into the open connectors stored under my seat, to keep the connectors dry, you mayy want to do the same.

Now I am working on the mechanical portion. I have searched for better directions here, as the Moco's instructions suck. It brings back memories of trying to put the kids toys together on Christmas eve, and the directions and toys are made in China.
I found a link in a thread, but it is no longer valid. Does anyone have a usable link with better instructions to install this *&*# tourpack kit?

Thanks Captain Jack. This is better than what I have for sure. I know there was someone who posted an aftermarket pdf as well, but the link no longer works.

This will help me for sure.

I don't see why not. You don't change anything in the speaker wiring when installing the boom kit as far as I can see. So the connectors will be the same.

It will work, but, because of how the amp is wired, you will lose the audio signal to the front speakers unless you change the wiring. The under tour pak amp takes the audio signal that would normally go to the front speakers and sends it to the amp. That amplified signal is then sent to the front speakers. If you remove the amp from the bike, there is no signal to the front speakers. You can reconfigure the wiring to the front speakers (bypassing the amp like a normal RG) so that the speakers get their signal directly from the radio rather than being sent to the amp.

Suggestions: (1) Buy the HD Touring Service Manual for your model year; and, (2) have an HD parts counter print out the installation instructions for the accessories on your bike, or at least the ones you'd be dealing with when considering modifications to the bike. Those will help you understand what's involved in doing any changes, especially those involving wiring.
