I use mine for everything, but didn't want a mount on the bars, so i use the HD boom tank pouch, and I am very happy with it. Solid as a rock, and easy to access.
I use my iPhone and iPod touch for music and GPS. Hellsfoundry.com has a new product called DashLink. I have it on my StreetGide. Can't ride without this thing. I upgraded my spekers and added an 200 watt amp that I got from them also. Great package...!!!!
I use it for navigation (Navigon App) and music. I use the Ram-mount...works great.
+1, I use the TomTom app and very happy with it. Also, I have posted a few tips on here if you search:
1. I use a Griffin AutoPilot to charge - compact head that doesn't dent the tank and basic buttons that can easily be operated using gloves
2. Remember to go in to the Settings / iPod / shake to shuffle and switch it OFF, otherwise music jumps, especially whilst idling at traffic lights
3. I glued one of these rubber tipped stylus's to my Ram Mount that I use to control the iPhone when I have gloves on. Sadly iPhone touch screen doesn't generally work through gloves, although it does with my 1 pair of summer gloves - no idea why

Nice set-up, but it looks like the phone would have to be out of any type of protective case to fit in the slot. Would that be correct? I am not going to remove the case ever time I get on the bike.
I use mine for music and gps. I had it on my bars with a ram mount. I just installed Black Wild 1 Chubbys 12.5" bars and didn't want to put it back on the bars. So, I took the base and mounted it on the inner fairing. Gives it more protection now as well.
