I swapped bars on my bike recently. I did the complete swap with internal wiring, new cable and brake line and chrome switch housings. My advice is to take your time and refer to the manual as you go. If you're just swapping parts then it is a much easier job.
This was my 4th time to do a set of bars and it was still a long and tedious process. I did enjoy most of it except for getting the second wiring loom through the bars. I go it though and everything works well.
PM me if you think I can help or if you get stuck on anything.
Take your time and idle through it. Don't rush. Its pretty self explanatory once you get into it. I was freaking out about it and once I got in, I realized it was no big deal. I changed all my controls to chrome at the same time....now that was fun!! LOL!!
Make sure you spray your wires with silicone, makes it a lot easier to pull. Oh and do not forget to stagger the soldered joints or it will never work. jmo
