I look at this forum on a regular basis and generally speaking a lot of the threads relate to `seats' and `handlebars'. My thought is if the moco could supply motor cycles to the market place minus seats and handlebars and say reduce the recommmended retail price by say 15 percent, that would assist all of us to purchase the seat and handlebars that we really want on our bike.
I guess I am not alone with having a shed full of harley stuff that has been replaced by stuff I really want on the bike.

Great idea but Harley is more interested in selling us a SECOND seat, and a SECOND set of bars etc than they are in making it easy and affordable for us to make our bikes fit us.
It's a nice thought, but I doubt the MoCo would be interested - especially since a seat and bars don't represent 15% of the cost of the bike.
I'd like to see them offer a choice of bars with the bike. Seats, maybe not since most aftermarket seat sales likely aren't HD.
Uhhh 15% of an Ultra Classic is $3300! That's a high end seat, high end bars, and enough money left over for a stage I!
Besides - you'll find that most keep the seat and bars stock anyway. It just seems like everyone swaps them out on here.
I haven't swapped out my seat or bars yet but speakers ,pipes, air intake and others yes and wondered why they wouldn't put better quality stuff on their high end machines to start with....I know so they can sell more later.

On this bike it is not so much the handle bars, but the seat, it is comfortable but it looks are a little plain, I need something a little bit bit more me, but that always depends on the $$$$ and in this case it looks like good replacement is going tobe bucks. but that is what customizing is all about, NO??? ONE OFF and mine.

Limited's are damn nice bikes....Your cycle doesn't look plain to me,but that's me.Most of my mods have been subtle but well thought out and I'm pleased with the over all look, nothing really unique but I've never seen one just like it.What turns me off is parking somewhere with about 150 bikes clustered around and seeing a lot of tasteless custom paint and mismatched chrome knick knacks.
i think its a good idea.polaris is doing it with there snowmobiles.there new rush comes with no windshield and you get to pick wich one you want, short medium or tall.i think it could work.
