I am thinking of trading my ULTRA in is yours an ULTRA ? I have been trying to see what they will give me for it? I have all the Ultra extras( Including Wire Wheels which was an option on 2010 models) and have seen from a NADA book I should get about $21K for it?
I don't think you will get $21K. Read my response in your recent thread.
No way would I take that kind of beating, that is a worse beating then the San fran is giving Texas right now. I just traded my 04 EGC with 80,000 on a RGU and was not a whole different, MSRP for the RGU and almost 12 for mine.
So you are probably taking a beating on your EGC and dropping $9k more on a new bike and you're worried about a $30 set of extensions? Buy a new set
Just considering, at the moment. It's not the cost of the $30 set of extensions - it's the 1100 ride back home. Now that I'm used to them, the ride back would not be nearly as pleasant without them.
If your sife says "Do it" then you should listen to her.
The seat is my FLTRU is a keeper as is the windshield. I did change the bars for more comfort.
Take a look at my video to see what I've done to mine.
Steve
Yeah, I checked out your video already. Twice. As has already been mentioned, I'll take a beating if I do this (KBB value for my trade is $15,200). So it may be a while before I do anything to mine, if I get it.
I considered trading my 09 UC for the SERGU but after doing the math I backed down and did a few mods to my 09... Sometimes its not about the $. Sometimes you just gotta do what makes u and the wife happy & others opinions don't matter...
yes the SERG has a differant seat that is heated, never thought I'd use it until I did on a chilly night, and the heated grips are excellent. I went from a 09 ultra to the new SERG and love it. I need to change windshield as I get a little buffering, and wife does too. But I'm 6'3" and love the way the front fairing is farther out from me, feels alot roomier... I immed. put the floorboard extensions on it. dealer gave me 20,600 on trade, and paid MSRP on new CVO....
the seat from your "old" bike will fit on the new Road Glide... swap seats, or trade your old bike in with the original seat on it.
take off ANY accesories that you put on the old bike and put the original stuff back on it before you trade it in.
put your accesories onto your new bike, whatever doesn't work for the new bike... EBAY it!
I save all of the stock parts from my bikes, because when I trade them in I put all of the original stuff back on the bike. whatever fits on the new bike gets put on and whatever doesn't gets sold to cover some cost of buying new parts.

Not only is the SERGU seat different than the RGU, the handle bars are different between the two also. The SERGU bars come back a little closer to the rider.
