I'm new to the world of windshields. 38 yrs of riding without one.
All I kept reading about was how having the windshield on amplifies the noises the motor makes.
Today was the first time I rode with a windshield, and to tell you the truth, my RKC sounded better with the windshield than without.
The one thing I noticed about the windshield that I didn't like was the vision transition from above to through the windshield. I kept losing track of the potholes, cracks, and bumps.
Guess I'll get used to it.

I believe it's the fairing and lowers that mostly contribute to amplifying motor noises,so you're all good !
I'd say you need a shorter windshield, it's best to look over it, I got a shorter tinted one for looks when I had my RKC, never took it off again, if you're used to riding without one I'm sure you'll like a shorter one.

I've had a few bikes over the years with either little wind diverters or all out wind shields and now the King Classic. Love being able to pop it off and go !!
I always think wether or not I'm gona hit the highway ...at speeds over 60.. the shield, and keeps that awful wind noise down. Don't like the top of the shield being right at eye level. Afraid if i go shorter than I will end up with another shield on my helmet. :/ I find myself always sitting more upright looking over it rather than through it. Also ya hear a little more of your top end (if your pipes are quiet) but everything has it's trade offs. All in all..it's like having 2 bikes
You may need a shorter windshield. I cut mine down about 2.5" and it's perfect now. Drove me nuts looking right at the shield's edge all the time... I can comfortably see it over it now just right. But aside from that, yeah, you will have that transition as you get right up to things, but that becomes second nature after a little while.
