I have these and use the organic pads, get very little scoring on the rotors. I like the stopping power since your using both pads vs. pushing on the one side w fixed rotors. I do notice a little vibration some times when they are centering themselves.
I too have the HD floaters. They work well and cost about $100 each back in '07 when I bought them. Don't know what their priced at now. The advantage to them is equalized pad pressure on both sides of the rotor making for improved braking and extended pad life. They work.
Also my '06 SG suffered from excessive squealing. The dealer tried to fix it by adding expanding spray foam insulation in the pockets of the hub. It didn't work and I was disgusted with them and HD's band-aid remedy. Ordered some floating rotors on-line and dug all of that foam crap put of my hub. Put those babies on and voila! no more noise plus better brakes. Put some on, you'll like them.

put the HD floaters on my '02 after the stock ones were shot. they perform fine, same as the stockers. putting lyndall pads on made a bigger difference, I don't think the HD floaters are true floaters, hence the price, pretty much 2 pieces hard riveted together. but they look good, are cheep and better than a warped stock rotor.....
I have Lyndall floating rotors because I got a great price from Fix My Hog. Really great. I've used Lyndall pads since the 1K service and they were a big help with the stock rotors, no squeal and much less dust. But with the floating rotors made a bigger improvement especially noticed going down twisty mountain roads.
One thing. When I'm at a stop light I usually have my foot on the rear brake but when i give my clutch hand a rest and use the front brake there was a weird vibration and rattle. Traced it back to the floating rotors rattling while the bike vibrated around them, shows that they are real floaters. Sadly not like the H-D "floating rotors." https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...ke-rotors.html
it's not brain surgery, HD charges a premium for everything, are they really gonna come out with "floating rotors" that are as good as and less expensive than say progressive or lyndall or ebc or brembo etc etc.........
