On my 09 CVO Fat Bob. Anrews 54H cams are on the way. I'm keeping the stock lifters and push rods. Sending the heads to Bigboyz for their street porting (worked great on my 103 SG build). I'll have the master tune done. Only thing I'm in flux over is the exhaust. Right now I'm running stock headers and SE slip-on mufflers. As I like the looks of the stock exhaust and the SE slip-ons have morphed into a nice sound, I'd like to keep it. Don't know how much performance is in the SE's but I'm toying with the idea of gutting the cats and keeping the SE's. Anybody think this will work? And I understand there are better systems. I just like the stock look. Opinions?
Gary
I'm not 100% certain if the 2009 CVO has cats in the head pipe. I know the touring cvo's did. I can check with our techs tomorrow if need be.
If your headpipes do not have cats, Rush slip ons with 225 baffles will give you some great performance gains. Also they will keep the stock look. The 225 baffles are the most aggresive and free flowing we offer for your bike. They will be loud but will really bring the cvo to life! I stongly recommend having the bike dyno tuned after any exhaust upgrade. The cvo's are a special group and you will not get the full performance increase of the exhaust without tuning. Below is a dyna pic with stock headpipes and our slash down slip-ons, same system goes on a fatbob.
If you would like some specific details, I can refer you to one of our techs. Or I can get the info for you and post for everyone else to read. Just let me know.
thanks,
Ryan
Cycle Shack may have a repalcement baffle for the SE mufflers... #1544 fits the Touring SE mufflers. Doubt your head pipe has a cat, unless its a Cali bike...
Just replied to your PM. Since it is a CVO with cats in the head pipe plus some other mods, please call in to discuss with our techs. These bikes required special treatment when choosing baffles sizes and tuning. You will not want to use a small baffle, it will restrict the exhaust flow which will not provide the best performance and will bottle neck the exhaust which could lead to discoloring.
