This question may have already been asked before, so if it has, just direct me to the thread...
I have an '09 FLHRC with ABS...what are the tallest "apes" I can add to my scooter without having to replace brake lines and the fly-by-wire lines? I figured maybe an 8" or 10" would be about the max, but I'm wondering if the Heritage bars might give me that much height...maybe even with a little pullback?
All bars are not created equal so from what I gathered, from reading the posts here, is that your best bet would probably be to choose the bar type, style, brand etc., that you like, then call up the manufacturer/dealer & see what they suggest for your bike. Some 10" apes/bars don't require anything additional while other 10" apes/bars may require other components to make them fit properly.
Once you've narrowed your choice down then you can probably get a few other members, who have the same setup, to share what worked for them.

Reason: need to add another bit
That's where I'm looking for input...is there anyone on here that has swapped his stock bars for a set of mini-apes and NOT had to replace his cables, lines and wiring and if so...what bars did he get, what size, how does he like them, face any problems....etc, etc, etc....???
Anybody? Anybody at all?

I've got a '09 RoadKing and mine has heritage bars on it and no cables were changed but now I'm wanting to take them off and go with 12's or 14's so I will be selling mine soon they are black if your interested were do you live if your close you could see how they look I live in north Alabama
I have a 08 RKC and bought 16" Carlini Gangster Apes after I looked the Paul Yaffe 10" bars. Paul Yaffe said the 10's would not have needed any cable replacement. My 16's did. I ended up buying the extended throttle by wire form HD and all other parts from Dr. V-twin. BEST MONEY I ever spent on my bike.
How is the pull back on the Heritage and the Yaffe 10's, compared to the stock RKC bars? I'm looking for a couple of inches taller with about an inch or two of pullback without changing the risers or splicing/lengthining or replacing wiring.
