Default Throttle grip

I have a 08 Electra Glide Ultra Classic that has heated grips. The throttle grip has slid out about a 1/4 inch. I push it back in and today I noticed it has come back out about the same distance. Everything works fine, Never pulled grips before. how are they secured. Any Ideas welcome. Thanks in advance

Well this happened to me and it gets worse. It would evenunplug the right grip to where I had to take the end cap off and plug it back in several times. I would not suggest this but I did it and it took me a couple hours. The problem is there is like some silicone goup in there making this happen. I pulled the grip off by sliding the rest of the way off. I then got rid of all of the goup now the extremely tediuos part.Trying to wrap the wires and the grip back on in some uniform manner. After a few tries I got it all back in there may not be the most uniform and I do know where the warmest spot is now. But they still warm up the entire grip after its on for a little while. Grip has not moved since and all is well but I did cuss quite a bit and walk away a few timesbefore I got it. Good luck!

Here is the instruction sheet from the HD site. I would just follow the install for the throttle side.

Same thing happened to me. I don't have the patience to mess with them, so into the dumpster they went. I'm in the market for heated gloves because they deliver heat all over your hands and the grips only provide heat to the palms. The plus to the grips is, they are always there. Unlike gloves, you can't forget and leave them at home. But you can keep the heated gloves in a saddlebag permanently, like your toolkit.

Thanks for the info. I think I am going to cheat. I pulled the grip back just a little further and put a dab of epoxy on it and slid it back tight. Hopefully this works if not I guess I have to pull the whole da** thing off and redo it. Thanks for the info guys it was most helpful.
