not for nothing..... but I would have called a day or two early to make SURE the bike was there as promised, and when promised..... Of course... the shops around here, call you when your bike is unloaded, and placed into inventory.... They say it's for you.... but truth is, once they accept it, they owe the MOCO...and it's in THEIR best interest to get you in there....
You got lucky.... I suppose.... but I would have called before hauling my butt 2 hours
Yep. Same with GAP. When we bought wifes car the dealer wanted $400 for GAP. I said no thank you. My credit union wanted $80 for the same insurance. GAP and Warranties are the biggest profit mark up for dealers

Sounds like that Dealer is stand up...you are a lucky man. I know you were all amped up about picking up your bike, but once it's delivered, all that will be forgotten.
Shoot, it could've been worse. My brother bought/ordered an '09 CVO Ultra - and had a bit of a challenge finding one in the color he wanted. The day he was to take delivery, he called to check on it and found it was dropped off the truck when it was being unloaded! Not sure how much longer he had to wait to get the one he now has, but I do know he wasn't given squat as an "I'm so sorry".
If there is a situation beyond the control of the dealer...like shipments...not much they can do about it. They SHOULD have made a stern effort to notify you about it. They failed. BUT...they also TRIED to make it right by giving you a very worthwhile compensation for your frustration. IMHO, you made out good.
I drove almost 3.5 hours to Roswell NM from Alamogordo, only to get there and have them tell me "the bike is still in the crate...we haven't gotten to it yet". WTF! You called me yesterday and told me to pick it up at Noon today! I was PPPP Ohhhh'd! And they could care less! Not even a valve cap cover for me! Some dealers are just F%#kers.
