Yep. Same thing on my '09 Ultra Classic at about 19,500 miles.
Dealer tightened it up and it has been good to go since.

Ya I don't think it's the place for red, if you can get the holes clean I'd go with blue. I replaced those 2 bolts with grade 8 hex heads and lockwashers, that way I can get a wobble socket on them, never had them get loose again though. It looked like alot of trouble to clean the bolt holes enough for locktite without taking it apart plus you can't see the hex head bolts anyway.

I used red. I probably could have used blue. I figured if that cover needs to come off then I've got bigger issues than 2 stubborn bolts... Evidently there's enough stress and vibration there for this to be a far too common issue.

I returned from a 5000 mile trip a few weeks ago and noticed a small amount of transmission fluid on the garage floor. I have a 2010 Ultra Classic. I traced the leak to the two exhaust bracket Allen bolts that screw into the side cover of the transmission. They were so loose I could turn them with my fingers. I tightened them up with a modified Allen wrench, but unfortunately can't get a torque wrench on them without removing the head pipes. I guess I'll just have to check them every so often. I was unaware that this was a common problem.

Probably a long shot, but mine was a bad clutch cable seal. New cable solved my leak.

Had the same leak on my '09 Ultra. Cut down an allen wrench to get to it. Later when I had the exhaust system off I cleaned up the bolts and torqued them to spec with some blue loctite added for good measure.

Anyone happen to know what size the Allen wrench is for those bolts? I'll cut a wrench down here at work before I run down to my friend's house to tighten up those bolts. Thanks all. Jr.

This is a good reason for everyone to check their trans fluid on a regular basis! Some thing that I tend to neglect.
