I just checked mine and it is wet with oil. No drops on floor yet. I will modify an Allen wrench to fix.

Again, the 2 bolts under the tranny affixed to the exhaust bracket were loose. The rear one was snug, the front loose enough that washer would rattle. No leaks though. Took to dealer under warranty to get retorqued. Never had a leak!

Touring bikes are made in York Penn. at least thats what we were told when touring the factory there last month. Rode my ultra there from the Gulf Coast of Lousyana. It was nice.

Oh, I missed the joke a first read. They maybe need to hire some old Honda engineers to help them out.

2010 Road King and mine started leaking with about 5,000 miles. I letting the dealer fix it. When I made the appointment the service manager said "I've had a few bikes with that problem". I'm going to Sturgis for the first time. Maybe I should let it leak so I can find my way home ( Hansle and Grettle).

Did you replace the cable yourself?

Thanks to this forum I found the source of my transmission fluid leak. As others have mentioned I was out riding this past Sunday and as i would stop for a light I started to smell something and look down see white smoke coming up from the right side. Pulled over and saw all the wiring and that exhaust bracket wet. Took the tools out thinking i had a trans cover plate bolt loose, that wasnt it. Then i look under the bike and the entire trans/oil pan is wet so then thinking it was the drain plug loose allowing the trans fluid to blow everywhere and onto the exhaust causing the smoke, that wasnt loose either.

Continued to ride and when i got home late sunday I noticed the next morning that I had the biggest puddle underneath the bike. Thinking I had a transmission pan gasket going bad I was thinking I was gonna have to take it to the dealer. Being a holiday weekend I decided to search the hdforums to see what I could find and low and behold came across this posting. Checked my two exhaust bolts and sure enough they were very loose ! Who would have thought that those two bolts would contribute to a fluid leak ???

Thanks again for this forum and other members sharing their lessons learned that have helped many of us that were left scratching our heads wondering what the heck is the problem.

When I had my header pipe replaced last week at the HD dealer I thought I smelled what I thought was transmission fluid burning when I cranked it up. Now it makes since.

I learn something new here every day.
