Unhappy Disappointed in Tune

I have seen the Dyno sticky on here, but to be honest, saw so many disparate numbers i am confused.

I have a 2008 Street Glide that has the SE 103" kit on it. SE 255 cams and SSRT, SE air cleaner, Vance and Hines 2-1 Propipe (not the HO)

I have 5700 miles on the build, but was waiting for Rush 2-1 pipes that never came, so now the ProPipe. I had the stock harley exhaust with Rush 2.25" slipons.

The dealer put a map into the ECM based on another build and off I went. 5500 miles. Power was good, bit of decell sputter, but not bad.

I just had the VH 2-1 put on and a real tune done.

Not happy. Bike is much louder, but not nearly as quick off line and seems to be lacking power throughout the band. The volume is deceiving, as it seems as though you are really getting on it, but the seat of the pants tells a different story.

So does the Dyno...80 hp and 98 ft.lbs. TQ. I am not sure, but a stock bike is like 60 hop and 70 ft. , right?

Do those numbers seem low? That is alot of cash and changes for little increase. I was looking for more like 100hp give or take and at least 100 TQ.

Another dealer and an independent thought my numbers were low, but of course they want to do the tune themselves.

Any one have any thoughts on the numbers? i could care less about them, but the ride is different, and I am not happy.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

If you are talking rear wheel specs you're close. STOCK engine specs are higher for both HP (60) and TQ (70).

So are you saying that just the stock 96" puts out numbers better than what I guessed? Crap! So my 103" seems awfully light.

My 2010 stock 96 made 52 rear wheel SAE. Added Rinehart true duals, Tmax tuner and big sucker. Put it back on the Dyno and made 72.58 hp and 84.29 torque.

My numbers were 94TQ and 78HP but I was getting some pinging and took it back in to have it tweeked. Got rid of the ping and now Im at 77HP and 91TQ. I thought mine should be higher too but you cant ride a dyno sheet. I do understand your frustration though. When you spend the $$$ you want results.

For what its worth the tuner gave me a printout for a stock 110" CVO bike also. Its numbers were 95TQ and 80HP.

You're about right for your build, maybe a hit on the low side. Here is a link to a recent thread on 103 builds with 255 cams. https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...e-255-cam.html If you go to page 3 you'll find a post by Dalgberia, I tuned his bike originally when it was 96", 255 cams, V&H Monster ovals, then he put a SE 103 top end on it and I re-tuned it, he shows the comparison between the 2 builds, you'll notice that there is not much of a difference in overall numbers, but there is a huge difference in how the lines get to the peak numbers.

I have a 96" with SE Heavy Breather, Bassani Road Rage 2 into 1 exhaust, 255 cams, and SEPST and made 81 HP/93 TQ. I think your numbers should probably be better (like 90 HP/102 TQ). You probably won't get to 100 HP with stock heads and the 255 cam. The 255 is a good low-end torque cam but doesn't have the necessary duration to really create more ponies. I'm still relatively new to all this, but I have really been trying to pay attention and learn. Did you use the same tuner?

Mine dynoed at 92hp and 109ftlbs tq. same setup as yours with a different pipe, and tuner. My bike rips when compared to a stock 96".....that said, I'm investigating a new build to get more out of the bike. Good luck
