I bought a new Ultra Limited and had the Dealer install the V&H Power Duals, to get rid of the cat. About a month later, while on a road trip, I noticed an exhaust leak on the inside of the pipe, it had already turned the transmission cover brown. I stoped at the HD dealer that I bought the bike from and had it checked out. The pipe had three big cracks on the inside and needed to be changed out. The only other pipe they had on hand was the V&H Dresser Duals, so they installed them and I was back on the road again. The problem is that V&H won't do anything about the $80 difference in price between the two pipes. V&H says I should be happy they replaced the pipe, with the Dresser Dual's and forget about the $80 difference I paid for the Power Dual's. I like the different pipe, but think I should at least get an $80 credit or something. What do you think???????????
Dude, there's nothing about that NOT covered by one warranty or another.
How can they say they won't replace the same item that you bought?
You didn't buy Dresser Duals, so don't accept them trying to cheap out.
The pipes are covered by manufacturer warranty, so they have the legal obligation to replace THOSE pipes, not force you into a different product you don't want.
Well you did pay for power duals. V&H are obligated to replace the same pipes. Your dealer did not have them and offered you the dressers instead. The way I look at it V&H doesn't owe anything. They would have sent out the power duals, but you and the dealer agreed to go with another pipe. It's not V&H's fault your dealer was out. JMO

+1, you accepted the dresser duals as a replacement. End of story.
Your dealer owes you $80. They put the cheaper pipes on. What do you think they did with the cracked Power Duals? They didn't throw them out... they returned them to V&H for a new set under warranty! They should return the difference in the price of the pipes to you.
