One great thing about this forum is to be able to recommend a product or company.
I needed to transport a motorcycle from New York to the West Coast.
Came on here to get recommendations.
Chose Allied Van lines. As a HOG member they provide a discount and were very competitive on shipping costs.
Now here's the really GOOD part. Their customer service was EXCELLENT.
I dealt with an agent - Mary (1 800 747 4100 x2341) who sat up the original contract.
She in turn put me in contact with Amy (1 800 365 0303) who worked with me on the West Coast.
GREAT people. Delightful to work with and very co-operative.
Because of some issues; nothing to do with them, I couldn't pick up the bike right away. ALLIED held/stored the bike for a week at no charge.
If you need to transport a bike, I would strongly suggest you use this company and these agents. They are TREMENDOUS!
Finally, I would like to thank the guys who recommended this company to me. GREAT STUFF!!!!
I have used both allied and haul bikes. aliied took a week haul bikes took a month
to get the bikes cross country. but neither damaged nothing
It could have been at the time you did the move, Allied may have had a full load and a straight shot X country and Haul had to fill their rig or make stops along the way, thats probably why there was such a time difference.
Just so some people dont read into it wrong as one company is a much better or worse than the other.

google haul bikes...tons of bad reports of them taking forever, wasn't only me, they travel all over dropping and picking up bikes then they finally get there when its convenient for them, allied is way better they will tell you when and it usually within a week, I WOULD NVER USE HAUL BIKES AGAIN cause of the time they take. haul bikes go by the name daily direct also...here are just a few of there reviews I'm not the only one they took a month to deliver a bike. http://www.transportreviews.com/comp...ulbikescom.asp
I used Allied a few years ago on a bike bought from NY and delivered to CA. It was tied down to a special pallet they used and came with soft straps. Took about a week. And price was reasonable. I would use again
What does Allied charge from the East Coast to the West? I have been thinking of a cross country trip but only have time for one way not both. Do you pick up the bike at one of there terminals?
