I've read a lot of posts on here about Danny Gray and Corbin. I think both are top notch but I'm probably going to pick DG and here's why. I am thinking I'll go with the BigSeat and add the pillion for the wife and there are two things you get with DG that you don't w/ Corbin. 1. A wider pillion, 13 for DG and 11.5 for Corbin and 2. You can get a little more customization on the DG and 3. the DG is a little less expensive even with customization. I spoke w/ someone at DG today and he stated they get their foam from the same supplier as Corbin but they get a softer foam.
Here's where I'm concerned about DG. 1. Some folks indicate the DG is not great on long trips and I don't know what long qualifies as but if I decided to spend 8 or 10 hours in the saddle I want to be comfortable as long as possible. 2. Does 1.5 inches in the pillion make that big of a difference to my wife? She has never ridden with me and I need the experience to be as good as possible. 3. Corbin has a great name and I don't really mind paying more if it's going to get me more.
I'd appreciate your thoughts and opinions before I make a final choice. Also for those with any kind of stiching on your seat...if you had it to do over, would you get the stitching again? As far as a seat leaving marks on your fender, do you experience that with DG or Corbin like the stock seat does?

Have you looked at C&C? I love my squareback in "mercedes leather". They've also got one with a wider passenger area - I think it's called the sport tour.
What about a Sundowner ? I am looking for a seat that will get me closer to the ground and I think the Sundowner will do that BUT I do not want it to do anything else all else is OK ?
I have a DG speed cradle with gel on my 09 Classic and the longest day I've had is 620 miles,no problem.I think the Speed cradle is a smaller version of the Big Seat.
Cant help with those seats. Very nice bike. You buy it in Greenville?
Yes, it's the 3rd bike I've bought from them. They've always taken good care of me.

Thanks for the info but I don't want a one piece two up seat. Hate the look and my wife won't ride with me all that often so I want a solo seat w/ the option to add the pillion.

Thanks for that feedback. The big seat is bigger and should hopefully provide the same comfort. I have been wondering whether or not to go with the gel. It is supposed to be between the seat foam and seat pan which would reduce vibes.

Call Chuck at C&C and talk to him. He will shoot straight with you and recommend what will work best for you. I would go with them before DG or Corbin.

Love my Sundowner...Just my .02...
