2000 FLHRCI front lowers makeover
I'm looking at rebuilding the front end of my old 2000 RKC I've had since it was 9 months old. It's old, beat up, and worn out.
So I've got a practically new 2011 18" Street Glide wheel & tire and I guess 25 mm bearings. I'll be needing a late model axle and spacers there, right? I'm installing the Progressive Suspension mono-tube conversion kit and a new Vivid Black Fat Boy front fender I got. Also, I got some 2010 lower legs sans seals that I'll be using and painting black with the Rust-o-leum appliance paint I heard about right here. I'm gonna put all new seals and seal bushings there, anything I should pay attention too on that? I've even thought about adding +2 fork tubes if the old ones aren't true. I grew up in the 70's liking that old chopper stance. Hmmm?
I'm also looking at replacing the old "original" neck bearing and races while I have her down. And installing that braided stainless brake line kit I have.
If any of you guys don't mind helping me out here every now and then I'd sure as hell appreciate it.
Thanks,
Blue Dingo
Oh yeah, I'm also doing the *** end too but that'd be another thread I guess. Got the '08 swingarm, axle, & spacers, the MU85 Street Glide wheel & tire, Progressive Suspension Touring Brace, and looking at Sta Bo 3 I guess. The old gal is gonna be sweet.
