4,396.76 for the engine comes with SE compensator all in a cardboard box. with the rest of the required parts 5,311.56. Told local dealership that i could order it out of Florida for 20 percent off free shipping and that i would just as soon give them the business and they matched it.

Dealer tried to talk me into leaving the engine there and bringing the bike there for them to install it. They said 11 hours 1100.00,i'd just as soon do it myself and know everything is to my satisfaction no warranty either way. Only part i am a little intimidated with is lifting the 96 out and putting the new in without any frame scratches. I plan on wrapping the frame tubes with rubber roof and i have some carpet. Just pad everything nice in case i slip or drag the engine against something. Hope the damn engine stays together not too much info out on them yet. One bit of insurance is the 96 sitting on the shelf ,one reason i thought the crate engine would be a better choice for me. 3:30AM can't sleep think i want to start the install shortly!

Good choice keeping the 96". I understand about wanting it installed now hell I only have some new chrome to put on and I want it on now. I can't immagine having that Big motor sitting there ready to go in.
Good luck with the install.

Dang, that's a hell of a deal! And you still have your "old" 96". I wish that HD would offer that 120R in their PowerPack package, say 103" for $2000, $3000 for the 120R, Yah! Keep us informed on the install and initial impressions.

I wanted to beef up the 96 but figured that by the time i took the motor apart and did some lower end work plus machining that i was going to have a good chunk of change wrapped up in it and not too far off from what i got the 120 for. The 120 crank has the lefty bearing and a tighter crank pin press fit but could still use a truing and weld probably. I'll see how it acts and still have the 96 to tinker with. I sold a couple boats and some other toys i had thats the only reason that i spent the money on this project. Compared to Mercruiser sterndrives and some of the v-6 outboard powerheads putting money into the bike is a wiser hobby. Damn boats is money gone for good. A member on here refered me to a tuner in Augusta Maine that i will take it to. I will put the SEPST map in it and start it then off to Bruce Bean at Big Boyz head porting about 120 miles away. Was hoping that the motor came in a wooden crate to put the 96 in but it is in a big cardboard box with foam packing around it.

Hydrolock,

Congrads on the new 120r motor!!! Let us know and take some photos when the time comes, how you like your new beast.
On a side note, HD sells you the "biggest", newest, factory motor and gives you a special cardboard crate instead of a wooded crate. That's just weak.

Enjoy the build and can't wait to hear about it.
