I have just completed moving the fairing with the 2010 fairing brackets ( 3 ). raises it about 1 inch and tilts it forward about 2 degrees. Instslled lower vented fairings from factory fairings. Looks great works even better. Email me at roadglidemike@yahoo.com for pictures.

Do you have any lessons learned during the refit that you would impart to your friends here?
yes that is all you need. The new fairing mount is part# 58530-10 and goes for $49.63 at Zanotti's.
chrome lower mounts are part#s 58454-10 and 58460-10 for $32.54
I am just about to do this very job. just ordered the parts myself. The only thing I need to figure out is if you really need the $75 HD tool to remove the ignition switch connector. You do not need to remove the tank - just the inner/outer fairing, the lower nacelle covers (maybe) and unplug a bunch of wires.
I did mine last weekend. I did NOT have to remove the ignition switch. I simply removed the bolts on the forks holding the plastic, spread them from the front, and that gave me enough space to work in. I did not have to remove the tank.
Don't forget to adjust the headlights, otherwise they'll be pointing at the ground in front of the bike when you are done.

But did you have to unplug the wires at the switch?
great tip on the headlight! I rarely ride at night so might not have noticed for a year!
Did anyone have a problem getting the brackets? I ordered them 2 weeks ago, and just got an email today that they are on special order at LSHD1. Wonder what that means.
Mike
I order my 2010 mounts thru Zanotti too. They were on back order for 60 days but finally came in. Is there a base line rule of thumb on adjusting the head lights after the bracket change? Example: 2-3 tuns in on the adjusters? I'd like to see if I can nail this done on the 1st try.
