Anyone know what parts I need to change to mount an 09 fairing like a 10 so I can use the vented lowers like the ones on the new RG Ultra? It looks like the 2 chrome mounts at the engine crash bar, and the big square mount with the 4 studs that goes thru inner fairing. Not sure if that all.
That should be it, bracket 58530-10 is about $50 from Zanotti, I think the chrome brackets are about $50 each if you use the screws & clamp halves that you already have. It's pretty straight forward, you have to remove the tank & the fairing, that's about it. Another good point is that it raises the windshield about an inch.
yes that is all you need. The new fairing mount is part# 58530-10 and goes for $49.63 at Zanotti's.
chrome lower mounts are part#s 58454-10 and 58460-10 for $32.54
I am just about to do this very job. just ordered the parts myself. The only thing I need to figure out is if you really need the $75 HD tool to remove the ignition switch connector. You do not need to remove the tank - just the inner/outer fairing, the lower nacelle covers (maybe) and unplug a bunch of wires.
If all goes to plan I'll begin tearing mine down tonight. I'm going to order the lowers Zanotti's. I already have the mounts.
One excellent tip I got from the this forum - remove the headlight assembly before re-attaching the fairing. That way you can see the hooks and line the fairing up very quickly. The headlight just snaps in right after that.
