Just traded my 08 Ultra with 59K on the clock, I had it for 31 months and it still ran great. When I traded, mileage was never brought up.
same with my 08, 40k on it and they never batted an eye.....never had a lick of trouble with the bike.....had rear head replaced, but ONLY because the the black paint was coming off near the plug and dealer offered to do it...nothing mechanical

Traded my 08 ultra in on an 11 Limited....man I miss that bike and wish I hadn;t done it....
I ride every day year round and do lots of long road trips.
I'm lucky, I can hit the road when I want, where I want, for as long as I want.
Been to 40 states this year. Hoping to round out all 50 by end of Summer.
8300 miles per month equates to 138 hours of riding a month at 60 miles per hour average. I am so envious, If I had an extra 138 hours a month I would be elated. Between school (15 credits Law), and work (30+ hours) a week the bike went on the back burner this year, lucky I was able to grab 8500 miles out of it. Hopefully next year being out of school the weekends will be able to be used for trips, and some fun riding other than just commuting.
09 ~14000 miles on her, no problems but second time into the engine for Maintenance, (at least what the wife thinks)
I have 09 FLTHCU which I purchased in March 09. As of today, I have 27,000 miles on her. My question is this; how many miles do some of you have on your bike. I love this bike and have had zero problems with her and want to keep the bike but am concerned that the mileage is really piling up too fast. Your thoughts on how many miles are too many on a bike and thoughts on keep a bike with a lot of miles on her.
Thanks!
Picked my bike up on 21 March 2009 at 5:30pm (but who's countin' the time ). As of the end of December 2010, I have 44,102 on the odometer (should be a lot more, but 2 projects @ work consumed all of my time in Sept - Dec, so I didn't ride as much as usual )

I bought an 05 RKC in Oct 07 with 9K on it. It just turned 50K. I'd like to ride it more. Why do people try and "protect their investment" by keeping the mileage low?
These things are meant to be ridden a lot. Posers try to keep their mileage low. RIDE THAT SUCKER!

It's not 8300 miles a month. His math was off.
Its 34,000 in 14 months. That averages to just over 2400 miles a month. I ride more like 1500 a month and then take 6-8 road trips a year.

Every time that I read about, or meet high mileage riders I smile. Like a previous poster wrote, these are meant to be ridden. I wouldn't call the low mileage riders posers. I would guess that people buy the scoots for different reasons.
Mine was purchased for riding.
Hell, I even think about washing it but then I'd be wasting valuable riding time. It gets a wash every two weeks, and I check all of the fasteners, bolts and loose parts as the inner city riding in NYC is brutal on bikes.
I have made an effort to find other high mileage riders, as most here at home think that I am nuts. I come on HDF, and find that I am a medium mileage rider at 20,000 + a year. I wish I could lease at 20,000 a year. that'd be some racket.
enjoy your scoots.
if you are in NY and ride year round... send me a pm. let's roll.
As of today, I have 4993 mi. only! We just don't tour like I thought we would when I purchased it. Great bike, I enjoy riding it, but am actually thinking of selling it due to not using it for what it's meant to do. The only "long" trips we have made is up to the Tomahawk rally and the Praire Du Chien area. Anyone interested, I have pictures available upon request. Black pearl w/ABS, completely stock engine/exhaust, some nice cosmetic upgrades.
3 years and two months: 50,400 miles on my 07 Ultra. Minor problems covered by warranty.
At 69 years and on Social Security, I suspect this is my last motorcycle, and I can't afford to buy another one anyway, so I'm going to ride this one until it or I cannot go any further.
I put 68,000 on the 02 Ultra and still got $10,000 for it in trade. I figure I got my money's worth.
