Default FLHTK Air Shock Pressure

I'm new to the ultra and airshocks. I have read the owners manual and understand that 20psi for solo and 40 for two up is reccomended. Does this fit with everyones experience or is there an un-written sweet spot?

thanks

They must have changed the shocks cause my book reccomends 40 PSI for single 45 for 2 and 50 for 2 and full gear....

You have the hand pump correct? do not use a compressor or you will be buying new shocks.

I usually put in 45 PSI for myself and gear, and it rides pretty sweet, but when the wife is on and the bags are full its just a hair under 50 and rides very well.

You will know whent you bottom out, trust me.

I've used my air compressor on three bagger's now. I haven't bought any new shocks yet.

Two up riding I use the max 50 psi. Solo I use 25-30 psi but I am 240 lb. Put in with the HD air pump. Just takes a very few pumps to add 20 - 25 psi.

Might want to check your manual again. I'm 240 lbs and run between 43 and 45. I carry the wife occasionally and rarely bottom out. For me the bike rides smoother @ 45 psi then it does at lower pressures.

Hey Pirate,

Pardon me for getting off subject, but how do you like the V&H power duals? I just ordered a set with Monster ovals, will be installing this spring. Was there a noticeable power improvement?
