I've got an outlet in the middle of my garage ceiling too... Your SUV's are sitting outside covered with snow,can't see why I would I want to park my bike in the middle of my garage floor...I keep it near the back wall,plenty of room for it and 2 cars.Battery Tender Extension cord's running along the back wall opposite the bike,impossible to trip on it.
(edit) unless you're parking the vechicles in the other storage area behind 'em (All I've got is a 2 1/2 car garage)
As long as the bike's getting treated better than the cages your priorities are straight...
It's all about personal priorities I guess. No way in the world I am wasting valuable shop space on something like my cage vehicles. They do just fine out in the weather. Shops and garages are made for the important things in life.
