winter storage
I bought three sheets of rubber garage mat from Griots Garage online. They are approximately 8' X 15'. Have used them for nearly 10 years and have worked well to keep the moisture from coming up through the concrete. An added plus is that they are really easy to hose off and clean when needed. I have had no sweating bike issues since using these mats.
Living here in Wisconsin.... The carpet or plywood under the bike sound like good ideas. A vented cover is a must also. As far as keeping the battery on a tender all winter ? I've stored bikes and collector cars since the 70's and never taken the battery out or worried about it. A couple of days before I want to take them out of storage I put the tender on and give a full charge. Never had a problem with dead spots on the tires for just storing over a winter.
One of the worst things you can do is to go and start your bike during the winter. Put it away and forget about it until spring.

Lot of good ideas here,I think I'll try adding the light bulb...I don't really see much condensation until Spring when everything outside's melting, what I've done then is leave an old fan running to keep moisture off.
