So when i bought this Ultra recently, I loved the color enough to pull me away from yet another blackie.
Slapped the trunk rack on asap for a week trip I had planned.
Now the trip is over and I am thinking of ways to purty her up a bit. Still love the Sunglo, but got to thinking whether or not i want to buy bag lid chrome rails like so many do or do I want to unbolt the trunk rack and buy the bag lids and trunk lids bras from Mustang? I think i would like the added black contrast, kind of like you two tones owners enjoy but a bit different.
Sooooooooo, the question is anybody have pics of their Ultra with this setup? Solid colored tins with bag and trunk bras on her.

Would like to see pics if available!
Thanks!
I have the Mustang Bag Lids, but didn't install the Tour Pack cover due to the rack. I love the Red SunGlo paint and think that the bag lids add a bit of contrast. The Mustang bag lids have a nice felt lining that does not damage your paint.
I think bras are for when your paint has been buggered beyond repair. For sure, it's an option when that time comes.
Quite sure that putting bras over new-ish paint will cause enough damage that you'll never be able to remove them. Is that what you want? Quite sure? Is this the voice of experience or just assuming? Nobody wants to F* up their paint, but I "assume" they wouldn't, at least i have read some comments suggesting that from those who have them. That's a good question I suppose to get confirmed one way or the other.
Racks/rails, had them on the last bike, new bike "looks" odd with out them- but the racks had limited usefulness. I may just live with out them. I hear ya, but seems like "everybody" goes that route, I like a bit different.

I figure the trunk rack is useful for my once or twice a year cross country travels, but given it's only 4 bolts, easy enough to convert back n forth. I like that look, and with the trunk lid matching bra think it would look even better. How many miles have you had them on...curious because you say they haven't damaged paint "yet". Hope that's the case after 50,000.

No matter what you do the Bra and trunk cover will scratch the hell out of your paint. Road dust and vibration of the wind ,bike and road will act like sand paper to your clear coat it is soft clear coat.

It seems like they would "eventually" do some damage to the clear. Hoping those who have used them for years chime in with their experiences. Maybe you are? Seems like the lids would be felt lined and snugg enough to not move much? I always wondered about the fairing bras, now those i can see being blasted by the wind and bouncing all around causing damage. But the lids being in the rear and so flat, thought maybe it would be safe.
I'm with the "contrast" guy. Had 'em on my (Sunglo) FLHX -- Originally just wanted them for protection from the wife & kid, but I got hooked on them pretty quickly and left them on. Transfered them over to my EG within the first hour of ownership. Mustangs - of course.
Not as much contrast on my black EG, but I still love 'em.
(EDIT) Had them on my FLHX for a couple years - Took them off maybe twice a year to clean everything nicely. Lids still looked wet when I traded it in.

We have different tastes apparently, I do not like Bras.
I too think that once they go on, you will not like what has happened under them once you take them off.
This pretty much sums up my ideas on bras:
Dr. Calvin Rickson, a scientist from Texas A&M University has invented a bra that keeps women's breasts from jiggling, bouncing up and down, and prevents the nipples from pushing through the fabric when cold weather sets in.
At a news conference, after announcing the invention, a large group of men took Dr. Rickson outside and kicked the crap out of him.

Sounds good John. With the Sunglo, I think a matching trunk bra would tie it all together.
If i really had the coin, I would keep the Sunglo and then black powder coat all the rails, engine guard, racks and handlebars...but of course, that's a lotta coin i don't have right now...lol
Sure would look sharp tho!
