Default Changing Fork Lowers

I am getting ready to swap out the stock lowers with a set of black powder coated lowers I have sitting on the floor. I have been looking at the repair manual and it shows removing the forks from the bike. Is it possible to replace the lowers while leaving the upper tubes tightened in the triple trees?

Nope.
Can't install the seals with the cowbells in the way.

EDIT:
Scratch that...I guess you could if you have a 2 piece seal driver.
Seems like it'd be a pain in the ***, though.

I did it with mine. just need a two piece seal driver. Mine is made of abs plastic ripped down the middle on both sides. I dont have dust covers on my front forks though.
