How do you prioritize your accessory/gear purchases?
There are so many things I want to get but only so many dollars. My purchases had been fairly inexpensive until I got to the exhuast.
I am getting a new custom seat from C&C, want a new a/c, headpipe and ecm tuner, lowers, tour pak for when the wife rides, floorboards, shifter pegs/arm, brake pedal/arm, mirrors, a taller windshield for when the wife rides, some other accessories that I can't think of right now, Gerbing heated gear, new boots...and there will be other things as time goes on
How do you prioritize your purchases? It's a disease!
1. Function - Does it improve touring comfort or performance
2. Cost vs. Function - Does the cost justify the function improvement
3. Bling factor - Does it look good to me and how big of a change compared to cost.
1) Comfort first, you gotta enjoy this baby
2) then the bling, whatever you can afford (you will change your mind about upgrades)
3) Motor upgrade last, the stock motor has plenty of power for a cruiser.
Actually an exhaust upgrade may be 1st, you gotta make this thing sound like a HARLEY. lol

Performance is usually big bucks and it's better to plan your upgrades for tuning purposes.
Chrome.....a matter of taste, and it does get expensive
How often does your wife ride? Luggage rack and T-Bag is cheaper than a tour pak. You'll need 4 pt docking system and a backrest for her. You don't really need a bigger windshield for when she rides either. You're gonna block most of the wind.
Stock shifter pegs are cheesy, so are shift linkage, grips, and floorboards.
I would start with the exhaust, A/C, and tuner(most people do)...don't forget the Dyno.
Personally, I'm gonna ride my stock seat till it wears out.

I have the disease . . . bad
Take a look at my mods if you haven't seen the video.
I dread the thought of getting a new bike because of having to start all over again with mods. My RK is an 01 so I have had plenty of time and boo koo bucks spent to date making it what I wanted it to be. First I chromed everything then a couple years later decided it was time to do a theme change so re-chromed. I guess when I do get another bike I will already have plenty of stuff to start with. I agree with Texas Fat Boy that exhaust would be the first thing.
