I let the dealer do mine only because I am very mechanically challenged. Charged their minimum shop time of 1/2 hour ($43.50) for the install. Even if that $150 includes the part ($89.95 MSRP without the pager) its still a bit expensive, but not outrageously so. If that is just for the installation its a major rip-off. Service writer said up front it was plug and play and they could do the install on the unit and pair up my pagers to it and definitely not go over their 30 min minimum.

Cool 3rd!

I 3rd the suggestion to go with HD's smart siren.
I've seen them on eBay pretty cheap.
If you've already got the security module, this should cost less than $100.00 and should just plug in, snap in place and go, go ,go.

Now me personally, I added smart security after purchase and because it cost so much, I went with the Radio Shack siren. Now that the sting of that original purchase and installation price is healed, I may buy the genuine article. Unless some other shiney bit of flash distracts my attention that is.

Good luck!
