People are always telling you to use the search. I always have. But lately it's just a joke. I don't even get anything remotely related to what I'm searching for. I have changed the wording and tried it different ways still not even close. What's up with the search?

Have no idea what you're talking about I just did a search on the word "search"
and this thread came right up !
When someone goea to the trouble of typing up a detailed post, to pass on info....it's nice when people read the post and get the info they need, instead of asking for it over, and over again.
Do you have any idea how many times people have asked "why people don't wave back??"
It's really hit and miss. You get so many unrelated results that contain you "target word or words". Too bad there isn't a "search within results" function. That would probably make it better.
Thanks Smithbrl Glad someone knew what I was talking about. Didn't seem like it use to be so bad about that. I searched (making a tight turn). Never got anything even close to that. Maybe it's just me.
No problem here. Just searched Fuel filter replacement, and came with Dawg's thread, which was what I was looking for.
Yeah, I've used the search function a lot and it has worked so-so. I just searched "fuel filter replacement" and this thread is the 1st one to come up. This thread has no meaningful info on replacing a fuel filter.
Sometimes you can read pages and pages before you find any useful info. There's just too many subjects posted with so many things mentioned that you'll often get a mountain of threads to wade through, mostly stuff you're not looking for. I have been lucky sometimes and find what I'm looking for but if you're in a hurry-good luck.
I still use it, but have little faith in it, or time to find that elusive needle in a haystack
Maybe I'm doing it wrong. Any suggestions?

Correct. The OP is correct as well. The search feature is a critical component of this site, yes sometimes turns up items entirely unrelated to the search. Interestingly HD's website is famous for that as well.

Careful...the search feature here has been programmed to be keenly aware if you've been lusting after metric bikes or if you wear a full coverage helmet while riding a Harley. Also, please tell me that you have at least 11 tattoos or it's all pointless...
God forbid if you're still using SYN3...........................................
