Default Grounding Amp

Just installed an Elf audio 70 watt amp in my 04 flhtc.I ran ground wire to pinch bolt on lower tree. Can this do damage to my neck bearings. I know from being a maint mech I never ground anything thru bearings(when welding),but in this case ,there is not as much amperage involved?

There's a ground stud on rider side of the upper triple tree that's easily accessible with the fairing cap removed. Don't know about using the pinch bolt.

Dont want to use that because of flexing ,will eventually break.

I ran ground wire back to the battery. You can move the tank enough to fish it back through on the older bikes, without removing. Was told the bigger gauge, the better. Think I used 10 ga. Works flawless.

Instead of using the battery negative, there are a couple of ground studs in front of the battery area; one is where the negative battery terminal is grounded. It's where my Arc 125.2 amp is grounded as well as the trickle charger cable.

As for the triple tree ground stud, I've used it in the past six years for the fog lamps, in-fairing antenna, etc. without any ill effects.

I dont want to use the neck ground stud as I said because of the constant flexing, thats why I attached to tree, seems to work fine there, but am worried about possible bearing damage from arcing.

I had mine grounded to the neck ground stud for 80,000 miles and never had a broken wire. just make sure you have a bit of slack. I don't you will have an damage the way you did it unless you have a hot wire that gets worn and starts arcing thru the frame.
