No throttle response while riding?

No throttle response while riding?
My 08 RK will surge then eng. lite will come on and the bike will drop to idle as I'm going down the road. No throttle at all. Pull over shut off and restart and OK for a while. Anyone with similar problems?

First of all, welcome to the best forum on the net. There is a wealth of knowledge here that should be able to help you pinpoint and fix your problem. Here is my two cents on your issue. Sounds like it is going into limp home mode. This could be for a number of reasons. If I remember correct, there was a thread a couple of weeks ago about someone having a similar problem. I think the outcome of their problem was a gas cap problem, loose or faulty. I really hope this helps and I hope I dont sound like a dumbazz spitting out wrong info, lol. Do a search for limp home mode or gas cap issues, you should be able to find that talks about the bike having no power. I wish I could help you out more but I am learning as I go also.
