Default FLHT no start

Rode about 120 miles Sunday no problem.

Monday installed chrome starter cover.

Today the lights come on, bike turns over but no start. A couple loud backfires.

I only disconnected the coil wires for the cover install. Im positive the wires are back on the correct coil and are seated properly. I felt both of them snap on the terminal. The kill switch is set to run.

Any ideas?

Try giving your battery cables a gentle tug. I had one loose down inside the connector once and had a hell of a time finding the problem because the nuts were tight on the connectors.

Try switching the plug wires on the coil. Sounds like they are on backwards if it is backfiring.

I am such as douchebag.

I bought this bike 4 months ago, the dealer had just performed the 10k service. Other than checking the oil once a week I havent done anything.

I pulled the seat, the positive battery terminal was only on finger tight.

Put the battery on the charger overnight, and it fired right up this morning.

Glad to hear it was such a simple fix! Now get out there & ride!
