My bike (01 Electra Glide) won't start without turning the throttle.
It used to fire right up and run about 1200-1500 RPM for a few mins. then drop back to 1000 RPM

Any Help?

 

is it a carb or a fuelly? if its a fuelly they changed them in 02 and the ones prevous to 02 have had some problem w/ them. a friend of mine just changed his to a thunder max for that reason

 

If it's an Magnetti-Marelli injection system you may have to reset cold idle. Common problem but not to hard to reset. Check HD service manual if you aren't sure.

 

Yes it is Fuel injected and Yes it is a Magnetti-Marelli

I think I may have found the prob. not sure though. I think it is the Idle Speed control actuator. It has power to it but does not move at all. Hot idle is good - 1000 RPM

 

I'd say you found the problem. These old MM systems can change idle overnight it seems but usually just re-adjust and they are fine.
