Default Windshields: Clearview vs Klockwerks

I've noticed a lot of threads on shields, and want to hear opinions/reports on both the Clearview shields, and the KW shields.

I rode all summer on a Clearview 6.5, and just recently bought a KW 8.5 for a comparison. To me, there doesn't seem to be much, if any, difference in wind protection from the two. They are designed differently, and seem to throw the wind at the same place.

I was surprised the 8.5 wasn't better at wind protection than my 6.5. But looking at the two, obviously the re-curve does what I says it will.

Does anyone have any experience with both, and am I missing something? I was really hoping to use the KW during the winter, and switch to the Clearview for summer, but I don't see much difference.

It just goes to show what a pain in the ***, finding the right shield is!!! It took me 4 tries to find the right one for me. I'm 5'10 with a Sundowner seat.. I had a Clear View 9.5 recurve & I barely looked over the top of it. I still had that damn wind tapping on the top of my helmet. A friend had a 6.5 KW demo shield that I tried. I was amazed at how well it worked. I can see over the top easily. I still get some wind in my face, but not enough to move my sun glasses. I like it so well I bought a second one, just incase they stop making them, LOL.

I bet you will get a bunch of people saying the KW 6.5 didn't work for them, but the 9.5 clear view did.

I've got the 8" Clearview that I like so well that I'm not inclined to even look at something else. But on the other hand, I like the way the lower shields look, so maybe I should try the 6.5.....????
