You guys helped me get my dash all set up, now I'm wiring in a set of 5x7's in the bags and I have a question.. My head unit is a 52x4, with a small amp and even when it's cranked up (amp and stereo) the speakers sound a little . They came with 20g. wire that I just twisted on to the back speaker wires (from the head unit) and plugged in the speakers (just to hear them work) but they just aint doing much for me.
What I'm wondering is what wire gauge should I be running ?
It's going to be around 10ft. long (maybe) so I was thinking that I should, at a minimum, bump it up to 12g. seeing as these are 300W speakers (140RMS). I guess what I'm wondering besides size, is what sound difference do you think I will see between the 20g and 12g (or whatever you suggest) wiring ?
